Sheet Music Help Section

Computer Music Shop offers Sheet Music in two formats; the standard printed (hard copy) which is is shipped to your door and the electronic downloadable Sheet Music which you can download and print on your printer immediately after placing your order. The Sheet Music Downloads are identified as downloads in the product title or description and you can click on the title or image to preview the score.

We have two types of formats for Sheet Music downloads - Scorch and Media Rain. The Scorch format requires the installation of the free viewer, Sibelius Scorch program. The Media Rain format only requires Adobe Flash which is commonly installed on computers. Most Scorch sheet music downloads can be transposed and the key changed (if this option is available during preview then you will be able to transpose prior to printing). Only the first page is shown during preview and also after purchase.

Per copyright restrictions, Sheet Music downloads can only printed by the customer on their printer and cannot be saved in PDF or other electronic format. Computer Music Shop cannot print, email, fax nor mailed a copy to the customer. Only one copy can be printed unless you purchased more than one and if you need to print another copy due to printer error please email us for one free print retry.

A. Scorch Installation

When Scorch has successfully been installed, the score to the Für Elise will appear below. If you cannot see the score then you will need to reinstall Scorch. Please follow the directions below to install Scorch.

System requirements

Windows:

Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista or 7
Internet Explorer 7 or later, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape 7 or later, - 32 bits
20MB hard disk space.

Mac OS X:

10.4 or later,
Safari (Safari 4 recommended), Mozilla Firefox, Netscape 7 or later, - 32 bits
20MB hard disk space.

For Windows and Mac Installations

Click here to install Scorch!

Click and Open the downloaded file and select Run.
Wait a minute or two until you receive the "Welcome to the Sibelius Scorch Setup Wizard" message and then just follow directions until it states that the installation is complete.
Close and restart your browser and revisit www.ComputerMusicShop.com.
If Scorch is still not working restart your computer.

Windows - Internet Explorer

Scorch should install automatically on Internet Explorer for Windows

You should see a yellow bar drop down from the top of the screen.

Click on the yellow bar drop down.
Select Install ActiveX Control...
Click Install and wait for the program to download (it may takes a few depending on your connection speed).
Click Next when you get the "Welcome to the Sibelius Scorch Setup Wizard" and follow the directions.
Finally you should get the Installation Complete message
Refresh Internet Explorer - View and then Refresh
If you are still unable to see the score after refreshing Internet Explorer, try closing and restarting your browser and if necessary restart your computer.
You should now see the above score for Für Elise

If you do not see a yellow bar then you need change your Internet Explorer setting as follows:

Open Internet Explorer.
Choose Tools then Internet Options.
Select the Security tab.
Select Reset all zones to default level.
Select Internet and change Security level for this zone to Medium.
Select Apply and then OK.
Refresh Internet Explorer - View and then Refresh.
If you are still unable to see the score after refreshing Internet Explorer, try closing and restarting your browser and if necessary restart your computer.
You should now see the yellow bar drop down.

Running Scorch in Safari on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

If you have a 64-bit capable Mac (i.e. Intel Core 2 Duo or Intel Xeon processor), then Safari will run as a 64-bit process by default in Mac OS X 10.6. Scorch is a 32-bit browser plug-in, and so cannot run inside a 64-bit browser.

Solution To work around this issue, do the following:

Quit Safari.
In the Finder, go to /Applications.
Select the Safari icon and type Command-I to view the Get Info window.
Switch on Open in 32-bit mode.

B. Printing At Your Convenience

To download and print your sheet music from another computer please follow the following steps.

Click Account (at the top center of the page) and log in or click here:

Click Review Orders

Click Download File(s)>>>

Twice click on the links next to

On the Scorch Bar shown below, click

to transpose or change the key if desired. Please note that the transpose setting changes preformed before purchase will not be saved. You must transpose just prior to printing for the transposition to be printed. Some Score downloads do not have the transpose feature available and Music Rain downloads do not have this feature. If you do not see this feature when you preview the piece then it will not be available after you purchased it.

Click the Printer Icon (7 on the illustration below) on the Scorch Bar to print all pages.

If you have printer problems and need another retry on printing please email us for one free print retry. Free print retries are available only for Scorch downloads and they are not available for MusicRain downloads.

C. Scorch Bar

Turn pages
Changes which device you use for playback.
Playback controls and tempo slider.* Click play button to play from the start, or click on the score to play from that point or stop.
Change top instrument or key*
Save*
Page Setup*
Print
Scorch information and updates

Use Page Up/Page Down and the up/down arrow keys to scroll up and down the score.

To play music in the background while you work, just set Scorch playing, then minimize the window!

*Not available for all scores. Some scores may only play an excerpt.
